Press On in ’17’

In the book of Philippians the Apostle Paul tells us that he has not arrived spiritually, and that even though he was going through difficult times, he was going to press on, and that was the encouragement to the church at Philippi – Press On.

As we look at the year ahead of us, we see the signs of the times. People will fall away from the church, they will not want to hear sound doctrine, they will not want to live Biblical lives. In the midst of this we must Press on. We must continue to reach out, we must continue minister to our community, we must continue to show the Love of Christ to a lost world – We must Press On!

It’s a New Year!

One of the great things about the New Year is that it gives us an opportunity to start fresh. Reading your Bible, prayer, witnessing, ministering, loving people, giving, church attendance are all things that you can do with enthusiasm and encouragement in the New Year!

Christmas Eve

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and here in Northville we have a delightful Christmas Eve tradition. Our service is filled with beautiful music, specials, a story for the little ones (complete with candy canes). We end the night by lighting candles and singing Silent Night by candle light. Service starts at 6:00 pm, hope to see you out.

This Sunday, December 11 our music ministry will present their Christmas musical drama called the “Waiting Room”. This is a story of hope and faith centered around the Christmas Eve. Service starts at 10:45.

Be Thankful!

Colossians 3:15 tells us to be thankful! Then Paul gives us a little clue as to how to do that. Develop a relationship of peace in our hearts. Devote ourselves to knowing the word of God. Do our service in Jesus name!

Now What?

All the hype of the election is over, Donald Trump will be our new president. Now what? I hope we will learn from the past. The Church as a hole fell asleep over the last 10 years and we narrowly avoided a disaster in our country. What would our country look like 4 years from now had a president been able to put Supreme Court Justices in place who favor abortion on demand and desire to change the definition of traditional family? Did God allow events to deteriorate to the point that we would be driven to our knees in prayer? And what would the election outcome have been had we not gone to God in prayer? Now what? We had better stay on our knees in prayer, our we might not be able to overcome the next round of attacks!

Exhausted but smiling

It’s November 1st, October is over and so is our fall outreach. We had a great time last night! The weather was great, just a little chill in the air, but no rain. At 6 O’clock the siren went off and it was a little slow at the start. Then all of a sudden it seemed like the line would never end. We gave out over 1,300 cups of hot chocolate, we where able to give out 1,000 gospel presentations, which was all we had prepared, and we gave out 1,200 invitations with the November sermon series on it. Now it is time for prayer – pray God would touch hearts with the gospel.

Today is one of those crazy days. Setting up the parking lot and getting ready for a couple thousand of my closest friends to come through the lot. We will have dinner ready at 5:00 for workers, then its out in the parking lot for 2 hours of mayhem. We plan to pass out a thousand tracts tonight, pray for good weather and open hearts. Then pray these children will read the cards. See you tonight!

Calling all workers!  We need your help on Monday, October 31 for our fall outreach.  passing out hot chocolate, opening up your trunk to pass out candy, helping to make sure everything is well stocked, passing out tracts.  You can bring bagged candy to church on Sunday or on Monday to pass out.  Hope to see you there.
