I just want to say a couple Thank You’s. Thank you praise team and choir, Sunday’s worship was awesome, it brought me to the throne. Thank you to Dr. Mark Milioni, President of Baptist Bible College, your message was not just inspiring, it was from God! Some times its easy to forget why we do what we do, and it is a great reminder for our church to keep serving! Thank you Cindy Pentiuk, for all the work you are doing on the Cemetery Walk coming up in just a few weeks. Finally a thank you to the Lord for giving me a great place to serve, and a wonderful wife and family to serve with.
Yesterday while having lunch with Brian and Rebekah Wright missionaries to the country of Whales they shared of a time while eating at a restaurant with another pastor. This other pastor mentioned to the waitress that they were missionaries to Whales. The waitress thought this was such a wonderful idea, and went on about how special they were to do this. She then asked in complete seriousness what kind of boat they used. Once it was explained that there was actually a country called Whales she wasn’t that impressed. It was an incredible time to hear of God’s work, how they stepped out by faith last spring at the same time God laid on our heart to take up a special offering for them. What a great God we serve, I am thrilled to pastor a church that is obedient to God’s leading.
What a fun day we had on Sunday! I love the Victorian Service, I am sorry for those who missed it. Not only did we get to dress funny, but we even got out of church early. With the temperature being in the 50’s we kept the service short, but we were still able to share the gospel with those who attended. It was great to see so many visitors and the positive comments from them about the service. And of course it is always fun to preach a Spurgeon message.
I love the Victorian Festival in Northville! From the Parade on Friday night, the booths, crafters, carnival rides, vintage baseball games, and this year a lumber jack show all day on Saturday and Sunday. The highlight of the weekend is the Victorian Church Service on Sunday morning of all places in the Victorian Saloon. Just like the circuit riding preachers of old, who traveled from town to town preaching the gospel. Many times there were no meeting houses available, so the saloons were used for services on Sundays. Come out and hear a sermon from Charles Haddon Spurgeon this Sunday at 10:00 in Downtown Northville.
