Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve will be an awesome day at First Baptist Church this year. The morning service will be filled with music as we tell the Christmas Story.

Then at 6:00 pm our annual candle light service will be beautiful. Plenty of Christmas Carols, a story for the children, special musical guests, and this year a new tradition, a keepsake ornament for every family.

The FBN choir will present a special Christmas concert on Saturday December 2, at 7:00 pm. This concert is open to the public and free to all who attend. This is one Christmas tradition you don’t want to miss.

Fall Outreach

It’s hard to believe we are getting ready for Trunk or Treat, but it is less than 4 weeks away. I hope you are planning on helping in some way as we try to reach out to our community on October 31. We will be giving out hot chocolate, water, invites to church, a gospel tract, and of course lots of candy. We will meet at the church anytime after 5, with the siren starting the festivities at 6 and concluding at 8.

Service in the Park – Sunday September 3

Hard to believe summer is almost over and Labor Day is just around the corner.  We are planning our annual Labor Day church service and picnic in the park.  SUNDAY September 3 at 10:45 we will have our Sunday morning worship service at the park followed by a picnic lunch. We will grill hot dogs and hamburgers so just bring a dish to pass. We will also provide plates, cups, silverware, and drinks.

The Park is located on the corner of 8 Mile Rd. and Napier Rd. There is a large playground, picnic shelter with full bathrooms, and plenty of room to play Volley Ball. Hope you will come out and join us – Everyone is welcome!

Good Food

This Sunday, August 6th at 5:00 pm we are having a cook out and hearing from Eric and Ashley Woodworth, missionaries to Honduras. Great food and a great time of just hanging out – hope to see you!

Basic Handgun Safety Course for Women

In conjunction with their medical mission trip to Zambia, Africa, Dr.s Michael and Denise Balon will be offering a class on on basic handgun safety. Instead of charging an admission price for the course, there will be an opportunity to donate to the Zambia Missions Trip.

The class will be held on Saturday April 8 from 8 am to 12:15 pm at First Baptist Church.  This is NOT a Concealed Pistol licenses class and may NOT be used in lieu of such a class. It is a basic safety course providing information for women and will include the following topics: A biblical view of self defense, safety, care, maintenance and handling of a firearm, among other topics.

To register for the class send email to giving name, # attending and best way to contact, or call 248-348-1020.

Family Day!

Sunday, January 29 is Family Day at FBN. Our worship service will be family friendly with songs, skits, and games geared for the entire family. Even the morning message will be presented in a kid friendly way, broken up into smaller segments so little ones don’t get over whelmed. If you’ve got children, this service is for you!

Press On in ’17’

In the book of Philippians the Apostle Paul tells us that he has not arrived spiritually, and that even though he was going through difficult times, he was going to press on, and that was the encouragement to the church at Philippi – Press On.

As we look at the year ahead of us, we see the signs of the times. People will fall away from the church, they will not want to hear sound doctrine, they will not want to live Biblical lives. In the midst of this we must Press on. We must continue to reach out, we must continue minister to our community, we must continue to show the Love of Christ to a lost world – We must Press On!

It’s a New Year!

One of the great things about the New Year is that it gives us an opportunity to start fresh. Reading your Bible, prayer, witnessing, ministering, loving people, giving, church attendance are all things that you can do with enthusiasm and encouragement in the New Year!
